Hello and welcome to a new feature: Trading Options wherein Angela answers your hypothetical questions about a trade release. Today we’re looking at G.I.L.T. from Ahoy Comics. Written by Alisa Kwitney, with art by Mauricet, and letters by Rob Steen.
If you like time travel stories with interesting, flawed, real feeling characters with great art then you will enjoy G.I.L.T.
This week Angela and Zach are teaming up to discuss some of their favourite series from the year so far!
“All I will say is that this issue of G.I.L.T. is well worth your time whatever time period you are currently in.”
“This issue really keeps up the momentum. I love the new aspects of the world of time travel but it’s beautifully balanced with character moments. Plus there’s the usual dose of good humour. With superb writing and art this is rapidly becoming a favourite time travel tale for me.”
“The plot advances nicely. The time travel information is cool and there’s a heck of an ending. Good art, good writing and interesting details character and art wise. Good stuff.”
It’s the end of April and we’re rounding up four first issues from the month gone by!
“We’re at the halfway point of Black’s Myth and it still feels like there’s potential for the series to go in practically any direction it wants.”
It’s been a couple of weeks since our last pull list, so here’s what we’re really digging from the first two weeks of August!
“While there’s some rather classic detective story ideas being weaved in, I feel there are plenty of surprises lying ahead.”
Karmen! Black’s Myth! Hollow Heart! The Good Asian!
“Strummer is a private investigator, she’s also a werewolf, and a walking reference to The Clash. Lucky for me I like all of those things in my comics.”
“while this is our best of 2020 list, this is a ‘best of’ written by someone buying books…so it isn’t going to include everything that came out this year.”
