Bigger Than Capes

A zombie, a ghost and a were…terrier? And together they solve crimes! Or resolve unfinished business, y’know, same difference I guess. Once a month Gwen has to eat a human brain in order to prevent the loss of her memories and her falling into a more traditional shambling zombie state. However a side effect of this is that she also finds herself somewhat possessed by the personality of the person whose brain she eats, leading to the unfinished business, crime solving side of things.

iZombie isn’t the most serious horror book we’ve recommended this month, but that’s definitely part of it’s charm, although the series goes on to have increasingly high stakes. Chris Roberson and Mike Allred created something special with iZombie putting a modern spin on some classic horror characters to make for a fun heartfelt story.
