It’s the end of the summer and June has gone to visit her boyfriend Liam on Brody Island. But their plans fall apart when a group of escaped convicts kidnap Liam before turning their attention to hunting down June. With no idea what she’s got herself caught up in, June will have to fight for her life armed with only a Viking axe that keeps the heads of its victims alive long after they’ve left their bodies.

Basketful Of Heads is the first series from Joe Hill’s DC imprint, the aptly named Hill House, and it’s a gruesome and intriguing read right from the outset. Hill is a master of the horror genre who consistently creates terrifying stories packed with mystery. As if that wasn’t enough, Leomacs’ artwork is the perfect accompaniment to Hill’s writing giving Basketful Of Heads a classic Vertigo comics feel packed with striking visuals and the immediately iconic design of protagonist June Branch.
